Oku Den – is drawn from ancient Japanese, and refers to the hidden mystery in things, the secret essence uncovered and revealed, the innate harmony underlying all things.
My eclectic creations draw on that spirit, and range from typewriter key and rare letterpress jewellery to amazing Japanese kimonos and 19th century stencils, all lovingly re-mastered into clothing, bags, jewellery and exquisite wearable art. Plus much, much more, all (I hope) timeless, fun and unique.
My intention is that the Oku Den range will be an enchanting mix of cultures, always with something new, both original and delightful. My aim is to draw out not just the beauty, but also the mystery embedded in history, and lead you to discover something of yourself in these precious and historical artefacts, as I have done.
